The tumorous development of the bladder cancer and of the recurences respond to mechanisms few explored and knowledged.

The constitution of a cohort with 1800 patients with a six years follow-up is a major skill to better understand the bladder cancer.

COBLAnCE has been designed to answer some questions about epidemiology (environment and personal and occupational history of the patient), about the clinical follow-up and treatment and also genetic factors implied in the bladder cancer developement and progression. The study also takes into account informations about quality of life of the patients with this pathology.

The objectives of the study are to obtain a better diagnosis-prognosis of the pathology, to increase the treatment efficacity and the quality of life of the person who suffers of bladder cancer.

Actually COBLAnCE is the major prospective cohort

focused on the bladder cancer in Europe

The management and coordination of the study  are realized by a stearing committee composed with five experts and a project manager. A scientific committee  composed with above twenty scientists and clinicians deliberate about COBLAnCE scientific orientations  and evaluate research projects that are based on its resources.

COBLAnCE is supported by Agence Nationale de la Recherche and the financial program "Investissements d'Avenir" and has been also supported by  Ligue Nationale Contre le Cancer (LNCC) and by Institut de Recherche En Santé Publique (Iresp).
